Raith Rovers furious as they are forced to play midfielder Ryan Stevenson in goal for 1-0 defeat to Scottish Championship relegation rivals Ayr United after injury crisis

Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers were left furious after they were forced to play an outfield player in goal for their defeat to relegation rivals Ayr United.
Ryan Stevenson, a 32-year-old midfielder, started in net for Rovers after all three of their senior goalkeepers were ruled out of the match through injury.
With Raith manager John Hughes unable to secure a free agent as a replacement, and an appeal to the SPFL and SFA to postpone the game having failed, Stevenson was press-ganged into action.
